The beck shirt by SILPHIUM is a take on a classic man tailored button-down shirt. The shirt features flat felled seams, a wide sweep and oversized fit. Each shirt is made expertly in midtown, New York.
Our collaboration is re—imaged in A.M.S. Signature color, terra-cotta, once the singular earth pigment used to paint early prototypes - now featured in a solid raw-silk dupioni. The collection's cotton-poplin counterpiece, a nearly shear black, came to be upon the realization that Andrea's everyday button down - a treasured piece from Totokaelo's final season, was in fact produced durng Onea’s time on their in-house design team. Despite its luxurious quality, Andrea's shirt is worn in, both in and out of the studio, paint stains and all. Both coming from workwear backgrounds, our shirt is intended as such —
Each shirt is adorned with a hand-painted and stamped tag by A.M.S.
The core denim is a SILPHIUM staple, the exposed button fly, scoop pockets and wide leg are reminiscent of vintage workwear, with a contemporary twist. Made in midtown New York using 100% Japanese and USA milled denim. Our limited—edition capsule is hand-painted in acrylic by A.M.S. - using signature motifs from early collections - intended to wear in, crack, and soften as raw denim does.
10% of sales from each piece will be donated to local migrant solidarity support networks, East Village, New York NY
